Wedding Cake

I have been neglectful! But there's good reason. I graduate from the FCI in a week, and it has been non stop projects. We are currently working on our final showpieces, but before that was the wedding cake unit. The theme was an Italian garden wedding for the simple yet sophisticated couple. We all had to work with the color palate provided for us, which consisted of blues and purples. I decided to make a blue ombre petal cake. We only had two days to decorate, but despite my worrying I was able to finish and was fine with the result. I definitely wish I had an extra day to make it neater, the petals more lifelike, and to deeply color my sugar paste flowers on top (I did the color for those in the last two minutes- oops). Oh! I almost forgot to mention that my cake was voted "Best Technique" by the class. Anyway, here she is!
